Bred from tough stock these hounds thrive in many conditions.  From hunting in rugged mountain terrain, farmland, soggy swamp bottoms to the conformation of the show bench our hounds excel.  We have recently added water races as another avenue that our hounds have a natural inclination in achievements.  Water is not a problem when in involves trailing a coon and they'll get there very quickly, their stamina is great as they are as good the second and third time around as the first.  In fact, Judy loves it so much she swam back across the pond to follow the coon back to the starting point!  See final picture!   Steve's philosophy in hounds is "Speed kills" or in this case Speed puts you in the lead!  Steve has always advocated that speed is essential in a hound along with an exceptional nose.  This is what makes our hounds shine and are the building blocks for a really great hound.
